Irish Sea Rim Bonded Land Bridge

The withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union on January 1, 2021, fundamentally reconfigured the logistics architecture of North-Western Europe. The "Landbridge"—the transit route connecting the Republic of Ireland to the European continent via the road network of Great Britain—transformed overnight from a seamless internal market corridor into a complex customs environment governed by "third country" regulations. For logistics operators moving freight between the ports of the Netherlands (Rotterdam, Hook of Holland) or Belgium (Zeebrugge, Antwerp) and Dublin, the central question has shifted from operational efficiency to regulatory viability.
